Organiser: The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong

Virtual Run Period: (HK Time) 18 December 2021 (Saturday) 3:00 p.m. to  2 January 2022 (Thursday) 23:59 p.m.

Running Record Uploading Period: (HK Time) 18 December 2021 (Saturday) 3:00 p.m. to  6 January 2022 (Sunday) 23:59 p.m.

Distance Requirement: (Individual & Teams) Minimum 5 km; (Family Team) Minimum 3 km

Route: Proposed routes are set on Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and New Territories. Participants are welcome to set their own routes.

  • Hong Kong Island Route: Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park, Sheung Wan to Golden Bauhinia Square, Wanchai
  • Kowloon Route: Kai Tak Cruise Terminal to Kwun Tong Promenade
  • New Territories Route: Shing Mun Riverside, Shatin to The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong

(Early Bird Gifts Extended) To express our gratitude for the overwhelming responses of “HSUHK FunD Virtual Run”‘s first wave of registration, extra 100 sets of “peanut-shaped massage ball + foam roller” (market value: HK$180) will be given away to early-registered runners. All gifts are limited and available on a first-come-first-served basis, while stocks last. 

One of the objectives of  “HSUHK FunD Virtual Run” is to raise funds for The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong in support of its campus expansion plan and long-term strategic development. There is no registration fee for this event, your participation is a donation support to the development of the University.

Remark︰
1. Participants of Individual and Teams must be 16 years old or above.
2. Family Teams must comprise of 2 to 4 members, including at least ONE member aged between 4 and 17 years old, and ONE member aged 18 years old or above.

  • Rules and Regulations:

Minimum distance requirements for each group:

  • Individual: Participants must complete and upload at least 5 km in their first running records.
  • Family Team: Participants must upload a cumulative distance of at least 3 km for their first team records.
  • Team: Each participant must complete and upload at least 5 km in his/ her first personal record, and the cumulative distance of the team must be at least 20km in their first team record.  

Participants are required to enter/ upload the following your running records:

  1. Name of participant(s)
  2. Screenshot(s) of running record(s) from mobile smart devices or running apps (e.g. Strava, Relive, Nike Run Club, Runkeeper, etc.) in which route map, distance in km, date and time must be clearly displayed; running records of treadmills are not accepted.
  3. The required minimum distance in respective groups must be achieved in the first uploading record, and each subsequent record must be at least 3 km
  • Participants with an accumulated running distance reaching 20 km or above will receive an e-finisher certificate.
  • If any participant completes a running record of 20 km or above in one single day of the event period, an e-award certificate will be granted.

 (The above e-finisher/ award certificates will be sent to participants’ registered emails within one month after the event.)

Event Towel and other gifts

  • Participants who are confirmed to have participated in the event will receive a “Race Pack Notification Email”. If you do not receive the notification email one week before the event, please contact the Event Registration Office at 2117 1650.
  • Each Participant will be notified to collect a race pack (containing a race bib, a “Handa” Finisher Medal and an event T-shirt) two weeks before the Event. Participants or their authorised representative must bring along the printed race pack notification email or display the email on any electronic device to collect the pack on the date and at the location designated in the email (the representative will be required to present an authorisation letter).

Participant Notice:

  1. Participants should read carefully the following rules and regulations. By submitting a registration, a participant confirms and agrees to abide by all the rules, terms and conditions of “HSUHK FunD Virtual Run” (the Event) laid down by The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (the Organiser). 
  2. In order to confirm registration, all registration forms and minimum donations should be submitted.
  3. Once a registration is accepted, all submitted donations are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances. 
  4. Participants are welcome to register for multiple categories including individuals, teams and family teams.
  5. All participants will receive a confirmation by email within 5 working days upon successful registration. If no confirmation email is received, please contact Event Registration Office by email: hsufundrun@sportsoho.com or by phone: 2117 1650 for enquiries.
  6. Participants should make sure they are physically fit for the Event, and are fully aware that the Event requires physical exertion, and understand the risks involved in taking part in the Event. It is the sole responsibility of a participant to ensure that he/ she is physically fit to participate in and complete the Event without any medical or other assistance. All participants are at their own risks and are responsible for their own safety. All participants must understand that the event will not be held responsible for any personal injury or death arising from any event or cause. The Organiser suggests all participants should monitor their own physical conditions or seek medical advice to ensure they are fit and capable of participating in the Event. Such a decision is not to be contested by the participant concerned.
  7. If a participant feels unwell during the Event, he or she should immediately stop.
  8. By submitting his/ her registration to take part in the Event, and subsequently taking part in the Event, a participant: (a) warrants and confirms to the Organiser that he/she is physically fit to participate in and complete the Event; and (b) agrees to indemnify the Organiser and hold the Organiser indemnified and harmless for i) any injury or death suffered by the participant himself/ herself or any other persons; and ii) any damage to property as a result of him/her not being physically fit to participate in and complete the Event.
  9. Participants should ensure that all personal data provided is accurate. Any false declaration or impersonation on the part of a participant will lead to his or her disqualification. The Organiser reserves the right to take appropriate action against relevant parties.
  10. No prizes or gifts for the Event are redeemable for cash.
  11. After registration, participants agree that the Organiser and third-party service providers engaged by the Organiser may use their name(s), address(es), photograph(s), audio and/or visual recording(s), biodata and likeness(es) in all preparations and promotions in connection with the Event for any lawful purpose in perpetuity as the Organiser may in their sole and absolute discretion decide, and agree to waive any right of inspection or approval associated therewith.
  12. The Organiser reserves the right to accept, restrict and reject any registration.

The above rules, terms and conditions are written in both English and Chinese. If there is any conflict in meaning, the Chinese version shall prevail. The Organiser reserves the right to amend any of the above rules or information without prior notice and the right to interpret any of the rules, terms and conditions above. In case of any disputes, the decision of the Organiser shall be final.
